William Clendinning has been producing his delicious ‘Local’ Jams for the past 15 years.
Having previously trained as a chef, it’s fair to say that William knows his way around the kitchen, but it was the purchase of a house with extra land and a handful of old greenhouses that kick-started his desire to start growing and producing.
At first making preserves was just a hobby for William, giving his jams away to friends and family, but having received great feedback he decided to turn his passion into a business in 2012.
Today ‘The Local’ boasts 27 different seasonal products inspired by things he has tasted and enjoyed, as well as recipes that haved played an important role in his family’s food heritage. The majority of The Local’s ingredients are home grown naturally without any of the chemicals used in intensive crop farming and what William cannot grow himself, he sources from other local growers and suppliers.
